“A Young Researchers’ and PhD Workshop – Research on Innovative Solutions for Elderly”
at the AAL Forum in Lecce 2011

The Ambient Assisted Living Forum (AAL Forum) 2011 will be held at the Grand Hotel Tiziano e dei Congressi in Lecce, Italy, on September 26-28th 2011.
The AAL Forum is a European conference co-organized by the AAL Joint Program (AAL JP), the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research (MIUR), the Puglia Region,
the Institute for Microelectronics and Microsystem of the Italian National Research Council (CNR-IMM), the Italian Association Ambient Assisted Living (AitAAL), the Province of Lecce,
the Municipality of Lecce and Roma Multiservizi.
The first “Young Researchers and PhD Workshop” was launched at the first AAL Forum in Vienna in 2009.
The positive reactions to the former workshops engaged us to continue this event in Lecce 2011.
In this context we invite young scientists to submit an abstract for the “Young researchers and PhD workshop”.
We welcome young scientists from various disciplines (geriatrics, engineering, architecture, informatics, psychology, sociology, nursing sciences, economics, etc.)
who investigate technical solutions for older adults.
There will be 5 different tracks:
On request a particular session concerning the progress of projects presented at the former “Young researchers and PhD workshop” will be initiated.
Depending on the number of participants either guided poster sessions or short oral presentations (5 - 10 minutes) will be requested.
In a closing event a special young researcher award will be granted for the best presentation!
- Computing and Serious Games
- Social inclusion, mobility and networking
- Ambient Assistance & Robotics
- Innovative developments: Neurotechnologies
- A fifth miscellaneous track will embrace all the subjects which are not included in the other four tracks.
For selected participants of the Young Researchers' Workshop the registration for the AAL-Forum will be free.
Note: Travel expenses and accommodation costs cannot be reimbursed from the AAL Forum.
